The SFAM1 FB, SFAM2 FB, SFAM3 FB, and SFAM4 FB are absolute draw-wire encoders with integrated fieldbus and Industrial Ethernet interfaces. They provide accurate linear position feedback for industrial automation, material handling, lifting systems, and heavy-duty machinery. The encoders measure linear travel up to 5 m or 10 m, making them ideal for long-stroke positioning applications.
The encoders support a wide range of industrial communication protocols, including PROFIBUS-DP, CANopen, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, PROFINET IO, POWERLINK, Modbus/TCP, and EtherNet/IP. This broad protocol support allows fast integration with PLCs, motion controllers, and factory automation systems. In addition, users can program the resolution down to 0.024 mm and configure scaling, counting direction, and preset or offset values to match their application.
The SFAM FB Series delivers ±0.5 mm linearity and ±0.1 mm repeatability while supporting travel speeds up to 2 m/s. A rugged aluminum housing and stainless-steel measuring wire ensure long service life in demanding environments. The encoders also offer M12 connectors or PG cable outputs, making installation simple and flexible.
An IP65-rated housing protects the encoder from dust and water. It also withstands temperatures from –40°C to +85°C, making it suitable for harsh industrial environments.
