The I58 and I58S are incremental optical encoders designed for industrial automation, packaging machines, conveyors, robotics, and motion control systems. Their proven Ø58 mm design delivers reliable speed and position feedback in a wide range of industrial applications. As a result, they provide an excellent balance of performance, durability, and value.
The encoders support resolutions of up to 10,000 PPR for accurate motion control. They also offer NPN, PNP, Push-Pull, Line Driver, Universal, and Sin/Cos output circuits, making integration with PLCs, servo drives, and motion controllers simple. In addition, the I58 is available with servo or clamp flange mounting, while the I58S provides a blind hollow shaft design for direct motor installation.
The I58/I58S supports shaft speeds of up to 12,000 RPM and is available with 6, 8, 9.52, 10, and 12 mm shaft diameters. Users can choose cable, M12, or M23 connector versions to match their installation requirements. Furthermore, the encoder withstands 250 g shock, 10 g vibration, and temperatures from –25°C to +85°C. An optional version extends the operating range to –40°C to +100°C.
The rugged housing provides IP64 protection, with an optional IP65 version for greater environmental resistance. Therefore, the I58 and I58S are an excellent choice for servo motors, machine tools, packaging equipment, printing machines, conveyors, and general industrial automation.
