MDB20 magnetic rotary encoder

The MDB20/MDB30 is a compact board-level magnetic rotary encoder designed for miniature motors, robotics, and high-speed motion control. Its contactless magnetic sensing technology delivers reliable position feedback while eliminating mechanical wear. As a result, it provides long service life and consistent performance in demanding applications. The compact PCB design also simplifies installation because the sensor does not require physical contact with the shaft.

The encoder supports incremental analog outputs, including 2 Vpp (AS) and 0.5 Vpp with RS422 (AC). It is also available in absolute BiSS-C, SSI Binary, and SSI Gray-code versions, giving engineers the flexibility to choose the right interface for their control system. In addition, it operates from a 5 VDC power supply and integrates easily with servo drives, PLCs, and motion controllers.

The MDB20/MDB30 supports speeds from 20,000 to 120,000 RPM, making it ideal for high-speed motor applications. It also delivers ±0.5° accuracy while operating in temperatures from –40°C to +125°C. Therefore, it performs reliably in demanding industrial and aerospace environments.
