LK18T absolute optical linear encoder

The LK18T absolute optical linear encoder delivers highly accurate absolute linear position measurement for CNC machine tools, semiconductor equipment, robotics, and precision automation systems. Its redesigned housing provides improved thermal stability and a more robust mounting configuration, helping maintain measurement accuracy even when operating temperatures change.

Unlike incremental systems, the LK18T reports the exact position immediately after power-up, eliminating homing procedures and reducing machine downtime. In addition, it supports SSI, BiSS-C, and FANUC α/αi serial interfaces, allowing seamless integration with CNC controllers, PLCs, and advanced motion control systems. An optional 1 Vpp incremental output is also available for applications that require simultaneous incremental feedback.

Designed for high-performance industrial environments, the LK18T offers measuring lengths up to 2,040 mm, accuracy up to ±5 µm, and measuring steps as fine as 0.05 µm. Furthermore, it supports travel speeds up to 2 m/s, withstands accelerations of 30 m/s², and features IP54 protection, which increases to IP64 when compressed air is used. These capabilities make it ideal for high-speed, high-precision positioning applications.
