The LK18 absolute optical linear encoder delivers high-precision linear position measurement for CNC machines, semiconductor equipment, robotics, and industrial automation. Thanks to its absolute measuring technology, the encoder reports the exact position immediately after power-up, eliminating the need for homing and reducing machine downtime.
Designed for demanding motion control applications, the LK18 measures lengths up to 2,040 mm with an accuracy of ±5 µm. In addition, it supports SSI, BiSS-C, and FANUC α/αi serial interfaces, making integration straightforward with a wide range of CNC controllers, PLCs, and servo systems. An optional 1 Vpp incremental output is also available for applications requiring simultaneous incremental feedback.
The closed optical design protects the precision measuring scale from contamination while maintaining excellent measurement stability. Furthermore, the encoder achieves travel speeds up to 2 m/s and withstands accelerations up to 30 m/s², making it ideal for high-speed, high-accuracy positioning systems.
Built for industrial environments, the LK18 features IP54 protection as standard and IP64 protection with compressed air.
