The I40 and I41 are compact optical incremental encoders designed for industrial automation, packaging equipment, medical devices, and general motion control. Their Ø40 mm housing fits easily into machines with limited installation space. As a result, they deliver reliable speed and position feedback without increasing the machine footprint.
The encoders support resolutions of up to 4,096 PPR for accurate motion control. They also offer NPN, PNP, Push-Pull, Line Driver, and Universal output circuits, making integration with PLCs, servo drives, and motion controllers simple. In addition, the I40 features a servo flange, while the I41 uses a ring nut mounting, giving engineers greater installation flexibility.
The I40/I41 supports shaft speeds of up to 6,000 RPM and is available with 6 mm, 6.35 mm, and 8 mm shaft diameters. Users can choose different cable lengths and optional connectors to match their application. Furthermore, the encoder withstands 250 g shock, 10 g vibration, and temperatures from –25°C to +85°C, ensuring reliable operation in demanding industrial environments.
The rugged housing provides IP64 protection, with optional IP65 or IP66 protection on the shaft side. Therefore, the I40 and I41 are an excellent choice for robotics, packaging machines, textile machinery, medical equipment, conveyors, and factory automation where compact size and dependable performance are essential.
