The AK20 is a compact optical absolute rotary encoder designed for high-precision motion control in applications with limited installation space. Its Ø20 mm housing fits easily into compact machines while delivering accurate, reliable position feedback. As a result, it is an excellent choice for robotics, servo motors, medical devices, and precision automation.
The encoder provides single-turn absolute position feedback with up to 20-bit resolution and ±75 arc-second system accuracy. It supports both BiSS-C and SSI interfaces for fast, reliable communication. In addition, it offers binary and Gray code output options to meet different control system requirements.
The AK20 supports shaft speeds of up to 10,000 RPM while maintaining precise position data. It is available in both solid shaft and blind hollow shaft versions with multiple shaft diameter options. Furthermore, engineers can choose different connectors, cable lengths, and flexible couplings to simplify installation and meet specific application needs. An extended operating temperature option from –40°C to +85°C is also available for demanding environments.
An IP50-rated housing protects the encoder from dust and everyday industrial contaminants. It also withstands 100 m/s² vibration and 300 m/s² shock, ensuring dependable operation in demanding conditions. Therefore, the AK20 is an ideal solution for robotics, machine tools, semiconductor equipment, precision instruments, and other high-performance motion control applications.
