The A20 is a compact optical incremental rotary encoder designed for high-precision motion control in applications with limited installation space. Its Ø20 mm housing fits easily into compact machines while delivering accurate position and speed feedback. As a result, it is an excellent choice for robotics, servo motors, medical devices, and precision automation.
The encoder provides TTL differential outputs with resolutions of up to 1,048,576 counts per revolution. It also supports shaft speeds of up to 10,000 RPM, making it suitable for high-speed motion systems. In addition, the A20 is available with solid-shaft or blind-hollow-shaft versions and offers several shaft diameters, connector options, and flexible couplings for easy system integration.
The A20 delivers ±100 arc-second system accuracy and operates at frequencies up to 12.5 MHz. It features low starting torque and a lightweight design, helping improve dynamic performance while reducing the load on the drive system. Engineers can also choose an extended operating temperature range from –40°C to +100°C for demanding industrial environments.
An IP50-rated housing protects the encoder from dust and everyday industrial contaminants. It also withstands 100 m/s² vibration and 300 m/s² shock, ensuring reliable operation under demanding conditions. Therefore, the A20 is an ideal solution for robotics, servo motors, machine tools, semiconductor equipment, laboratory instruments, and other precision motion control applications.
