The MS40 and MSC40 are compact absolute magnetic encoders designed for reliable position feedback in industrial automation, packaging machines, machine tools, and general motion control. Their rugged Ø40 mm housing combines a compact footprint with durable construction, making the encoders easy to install in space-limited applications.
The encoders provide single-turn absolute position feedback with up to 12-bit resolution through the SSI interface. They also support bit-parallel and analog outputs, giving engineers greater flexibility when selecting a communication interface. In addition, the MS40 features a solid shaft, while the MSC40 offers a blind hollow shaft for direct motor mounting.
The MS40/MSC40 supports shaft speeds of up to 12,000 RPM while maintaining reliable position feedback. It offers cable or M12 connector options to simplify installation and system integration. Furthermore, the encoder operates from 5 VDC or 10–30 VDC, depending on the selected output version.
A rugged housing with IP65 protection—or IP66 as an option—protects the encoder from dust and water. It also withstands 100 g shock, 10 g vibration, and temperatures from –20°C to +85°C.
