High-precision PWB IMEA magnetic multiturn encoder for industrial automation.

IMEA Absolute Magnetic Multiturn Encoder

The IMEA 64 absolute magnetic multiturn encoder delivers high-precision position feedback for large through-hollow shaft systems, servo motors, and advanced motion control applications. Its bearingless kit design combines a magnetic hub with a compact sensor head, allowing quick installation on a wide range of motor shaft sizes while reducing mechanical wear.

Using advanced magnetic sensing technology, the IMEA 64 accurately detects and stores single-turn and multiturn positions, even when power is removed. A backup battery preserves the absolute position data for many years, making the encoder ideal for applications that require reliable position retention after power loss. Depending on the battery capacity, the system can retain position information for up to 24 years.

The encoder supports SSI and BiSS interfaces, with SPI available on request, making integration simple across a wide range of industrial controllers and motion control systems. Furthermore, its bearingless construction, generous mounting tolerances, and resistance to contamination provide reliable operation in harsh industrial environments.

Designed specifically for motion control systems with large hollow shafts, the IMEA 64 delivers up to 42-bit absolute resolution, combining up to 26-bit single-turn and 16-bit multiturn resolution. As a result, it offers accuracy approaching that of optical encoder systems while maintaining the durability and robustness of magnetic sensing.
